SUMMARY:Cybersecurity Simplified: What Your Small Business Needs to Know -- GateWay CC
DESCRIPTION:Technology is a double-edged sword. On the one hand\, it creates productivity and business opportunities never seen before. On the other it can allow remote users access to an entire business\, enabling them to take it down with a few keystrokes. With fewer employees than ever\, technology can allow small businesses to directly compete with medium and large firms. \nThe largest threat currently facing small businesses is cybersecurity. Small to medium sized businesses are particularly at risk because they are viewed by hackers as easier targets due to their general lack of awareness and resources. Small businesses can no longer afford to remain unaware of the threats or remain complacent with inadequate technology. They have to take action to enhance their systems\, processes\, and staffing in order to remain viable in today’s online economy. \nAfter this session you should be able to….. \n\nIdentify the assets and systems that are susceptible to cyber threats.\nUnderstand basic practices needed to protect your systems and assets.\nWhat you use to detect someone or something malicious.\nHow to deal with a breach if and when it occurs.\nHow to restore your business back to normal after a breach.\n\nSpeaker(s): Dave Eilken is an Information Security Officer at the Maricopa  Community Colleges. He has worked in information technology for over 20 years\, half of that time specifically in cybersecurity. \nRegister Now \n
